Apply for a meat industry licence

Important information

A licence is needed to operate an abattoir or to process, slaughter, transport or store meat in the NT.
Licences last for one year, from 1 July to 30 June.
You’ll need to attach evidence that your business meets any relevant planning, environmental and food safety requirements.
If you or anyone associated with your business has been convicted of an offence, you’ll need to attach details of the convictions.

This takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

There is a fee. You can pay using a Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card.
