Apply for a meat industry licence

Important information

  • A licence is needed to operate an abattoir or to process, slaughter, transport or store meat in the NT.
  • Licences last for one year, from 1 July to 30 June.
  • You’ll need to attach evidence that your business meets any relevant planning, environmental and food safety requirements.
  • If you or anyone associated with your business has been convicted of an offence, you’ll need to attach details of the convictions.
