Register a food business

Important information

Most businesses that sell food in the NT need to be registered.
Do this at least 30 days before opening.
You should attach a copy of your intended menu and a floor plan.
If your business uses a private water supply, you will also need to attach water test results.
Applicants can verify an Australian ID document online. This service checks existing government records to match your driver licence, passport, birth certificate or visa.

This takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

All steps must be completed in one go. You can't save your application and complete it at a later stage.

There is a fee. Pay when you register online using a Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card.
