Apply for the early start to suspension option

Important information

If your licence is going to be suspended for reaching your demerit points limit, you can request to start the suspension early.
Before you apply, read the options explained on your Notice of Suspension letter. It's important that you choose the option that's right for you.
You must apply at least 7 days before the scheduled suspension start date.
Online applications are processed within 3 business days. If your application is accepted, your early start will begin the next business day.
You'll need to upload a copy of the front and back of your driver licence card. Your driver licence must be signed.

This takes about 10 minutes.

All steps must be completed in one go. You can't save your application and complete it at a later stage.

You can also apply via email or in person at an MVR office using the L12 form - nomination of demerit points option. This form is available on the NT Government website.
