Apply for a permit to use aircraft and drones in parks

Important information

You may need a permit to use a drone or any other kind of aircraft in an NT park or reserve.
A permit issued for recreational activities allows you to fly in approved parks for 12 months.
Not all parks allow drones and some don't require permits - so check the rules before applying.
Applications that relate to commercial activities, such as professional filming and photography, have different rules and require evidence of insurance.

This takes about 5 minutes for recreational applicants and 15 minutes for commercial.

All steps must be completed in one go. You can't save your application and complete it at a later stage.

There is no charge for recreational applications.

Commercial activities have a $55 application fee. You can pay online using a Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card.
