Renew your vehicle registration

Important information

  • Before renewing, check if your vehicle needs an inspection. If it does, the inspection report needs to be submitted to MVR first.
  • To renew online you’ll need your registration number and your MVR transaction number. The transaction number can be found on your renewal notice.

This takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

Payment options

You’ll need to pay a registration fee. This can be done using BPAY, or a Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card.

If you're paying with BPAY

At the end of your renewal transaction in MVR Quickpay, you'll get your BPAY customer reference number. You can only use your BPAY customer reference number once and must complete payment within 3 days.

To make your BPAY payment, follow these steps:

1. Copy the payment details from the MVR Quickpay screen:

  • customer reference number
  • BPAY biller code
  • payment amount.

2. Log in to your nominated bank and process your BPAY payment.

Other ways to renew
