Book a number plate appointment

Important information

  • Currently, you can only book number plate appointments at MVR Darwin.
  • You must bring all required documents to your appointment. If you don't, your appointment may be rescheduled or cancelled.
  • If you are picking up new plates, you will need to bring your old number plates with you.

You can book an appointment at MVR Darwin to pick up, surrender or transfer number plates to another person.

There are specific steps you need to follow and documentation you need to provide for each service. You should read this information before you book an appointment. You may need to bring specific things to your appointment.

This takes less than 5 minutes.

You'll need to provide your name, email and mobile phone number to complete your booking. We'll also ask you to confirm what you're booking the appointment for.

Appointments are updated weekly. If no times are showing, all appointments have been booked and you should check back later.

After your book

You'll receive an email and SMS confirming your booking and what you need to bring with you. You'll also receive a reminder the day before your appointment.

Other ways to apply

You can surrender, transfer or pick up number plates in person at other MVR offices. You may also be able to apply for some number plates online, visit the links below for more information.
