Apply for an employee exemption for a Working with Children Clearance

Important information

As an employer, you must make sure your relevant employees and volunteers have a valid Working with Children Clearance. This is also known as an Ochre Card.
If you need someone to start immediately, you can request a short-term exemption while you wait for their clearance.
Before you apply, check the person's clearance validity. You don't need an exemption if their status is current.
You'll need to attach copies of the receipt for the Ochre Card application and any interstate working with children card that the person holds.

This takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

All steps must be completed in one go. You can't save your application and complete it at a later stage.

There is no fee for this service.
