Apply for a commercial and private agent licence

Important information

You need a licence to work as a commercial agent, inquiry agent, process server or private bailiff in the NT.
Licences are valid for 3 or 5 years.
You can apply as an individual, partnership or company.
Submit a criminal history check, also known as a national police check, before applying. Find out how by reading police checks for licensing.
You’ll need to attach the results of your criminal history check to your licence application. If you don't, your application won't be processed until the results are provided.

This takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

You’ll be prompted to register for Licensing NT if you haven’t used the system before.

Once you register, make sure you link any existing licences to your profile by contacting Occupational Licensing.

There is a fee. You can pay using a Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card.
